In June of 2015 I had a vision:

We were in Rome.

Just me and a tiny group of women who felt like kindred spirits.

We were drinking prosecco together, talking about sex and God.

I got to be their big sister answering all their questions they were afraid to ask anyone else.

We had so much fun!

We went on a lingerie tour and got glamorously dressed up just for one another, not for the eyes of any man.

We meditated and danced our prayers, and we moved through yoga poses sensually and creatively, like confident felines instead of struggling soldiers.

We ate and drank together and told our stories through laughter and tears.

The vision I had was born from my love of travel, deep discussions, a holy discontent:

We live in a time with unprecedented freedom and quality of life, yet there is an epidemic of women who hunger for wholeness, but are lost on how to integrate a healthy sexuality into the fullness of who they are.

Where do we go for help if...

  • The church has made us feel dirty or ashamed.

  • The medical industry has made us feel broken or insane.

  • Media messages have made us feel so inadequate and deplorably plain.

I had a wild idea that we should go to Rome....

So we did!

The first Sophia Experience happened that December in Rome, just like I envisioned it (except in real life Antonio Banderas showed up, proving we can always dream bigger)!

That following summer we went to Puglia.

Then to Palm Springs.

And then to Scottsdale.

And now to Mexico! And soon Australia!

I wanted to give women their very own field experience of living wholeheartedly connected to beauty, pleasure, brazen sexiness, femininity, and grace.

Sophia showed me the way to do that in my own life, and I knew she could show the way for other women, too.

That's how the Sophia Retreat was born....

Meet Sophia

What happens to women when they become aware of Sophia’s divine power within themselves? Reality is changed...
— Wisdom Feast: Sophia in Study & Celebration

Sophia Retreats aren't concerned with defining who Sophia is.

We are perfectly content simply to experience her, and delight in all the ways we can intimately connect with-- and embody her wisdom-- in our own life as women devoted to Love.

At the Sophia Retreat you are invited to explore who Sophia is to you... and to let your reality be changed and illuminated in the process.

Sophia is greek for wisdom.

There is more material on Sophia than almost any other figure in the bible besides Jesus, yet we know so little about her.

However, she is rising in our consciousness.

(At such a time as this, right?  With the #metoo movement, and #timesup, the feminine is rising everywhere).

And she does not limit herself to the bible, nor does she confine herself to Christianity.

She is Wisdom.

She is Mystery.

She is Presence.

She is the sacred feminine in you and me.

What I, Morgan (creator of the Sophia Retreats), have learned about Sophia is that she prefers to be known not through scripture, but through embodiment.
